Eloise Anna Hippensteel nee Shideler, age 101, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Mission Ridge in Billings. She was born on Nov. 10, 1917, in Joliet, Illinois.
She is survived by her children: daughter Roberta Yoder of Billings; sons David Hippensteel (Rosemary) of Drummonds, Tennessee, and Allan (Donna) Hippensteel of Chicago. She is the grandmother of Beth Brault (Bernie) of Billings, Tim Yoder (Stacey) of Idaho Springs, Idaho, and Megan Hippensteel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has five great-grandchildren: Abbey (Nick) Colbert, Jon Brault, Sidney Yoder, Tristan Yoder and Chyanne Yoder.
Eloise grew up on a farm in Goshen, Indiana, until she went to college. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and graduated with a BA in Education in 1939. She married Robert Hippensteel on Aug. 17, 1940. They lived in Dowagiac, Michigan, until 1950, then moved to Chicago Heights, Illinois, for 27 years and retired in Mountainburg, Arkansas, for over 30 years. Her husband, Robert Hippensteel, passed away in 2005. Eloise moved to Mission Ridge, Billings, in 2012.
Eloise’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2940 Poly Drive, Billings.
