Elton Neal Fortney was born January 29, 1956, in Billings, to Neal Fortney and Alice Fortney (Drevs) of Broadview. He passed away May 16, 2021.
Elton married Tammy Fortney (Lindt) on November 25, 1981, and adopted his son, Josh Fortney. He grew up on the family farm with three brothers: Dalton Fortney (Jackie), Laren Fortney, Kerry Fortney (Trina). He also had four sisters: Valda Fortney (Miles), Lorna Paulson (Tim), Renee Wodrich, Joan Shug (Scott). Upon leaving the farm, he joined the U.S. Army. Shortly after his honorable discharge, he met and married Tammy. He worked for the same company for 25 years and also became a foster parent. He moved back to the country 21 years ago to raise cattle and eventually raise Papillon show dogs whom he cherished very much and loved going to shows.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Tammy and son Josh; three grandchildren (Christina, Parker and KyraAnn) and two great-grandchildren (Paisley, baby boy); others that became family (Megan Green, Dan Wagner and too many more to list). Elton had a big heart and was devoted. Together, Elton and Tammy opened their home to many. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Valda and Renee.
