We have lost our mother, grandmother, and friend, Maryee. Maryee loved animals and especially loved dog sitting for Battie – Lisa and Bill's dog. She especially enjoyed shopping and going out to lunch with her friends. Visiting Yellowstone Park was one of her favorite things to do each spring and summer. She loved the mountains and enjoyed spending time at Bill and Lisa's cabin enjoying the peaceful Beartooth Mountain View.
Emilie M. Gainer was born June 14, 1927 in Ely, MN. On April 25, 1952, she married Howard W. Fordham in Douglas, WY. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa D. Fordham and her husband Bill DeMeyer of Billings. Bill and Maryee had a very close relationship. He lovingly cared for Maryee these past few months.
She is also survived by her son Kim H. Fordham, his wife Betsy and grandson Michael of Littleton, CO. Betsy was always a wonderful hostess when Maryee visited, and took her on countless shopping adventures. Her grandson Michael was her greatest love and joy these past 16 years. They had a very special relationship that can never by replaced. Her house was filled with pictures of Michael growing up. She was especially proud of his swimming achievements. All who knew Maryee knew of her special love for Michael.
She is also survived by a stepdaughter Suzenne Grant and her husband Dumants of Sunland, CA and her stepson Maurice and his wife Lynn and her nephew Bob Fordham of Powell, WY.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Elaine Parsons, Maryee's neighbor. She was always there to help and care for Maryee. A special note for her daughters Kallie and Cydny: Maryee loved watching you grow up. You always brought a smile to her face.
The family also wishes to extend a thank you to her friends that have supported her these last few months; Phyllis, Art & Louise, Pete & Kathy, Tivola, Laverne, Edna, Mary Ann, and also Don Peloquin.
Bill and Lisa wish to thank Dr. Abdul Kadri whom without his support and kindness we would not have been able to navigate this journey with her.
Per her wishes, there will be no services held. Instead, the family will be hosting an Open House from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the home of Karen Tanner, 3010 Colton Blvd. in Billings.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are in the care of Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Billings Animal Shelter or Help For Homeless Pets.
