Esther "Essie May" Myers, 90, of Billings, was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in her home, surrounded by family, on April 12, 2021.
She grew up in Lockwood, attended Lockwood School and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1949. She married Louie Wise and they had a son, Louis "Louie" Wise (Myers). She later re-married John W. Myers in 1957, from Sentinel Butte, ND. Together, they raised four children, Louie, Don, Dee Anna and Brett.
She spent most of her life in retail serving others, most notably at Renier Supermarket, Millstone Coffee and Wheat Montana Bread Co., where she met many of her lifelong friends. She lit up the room and was a friend to everyone! If she didn't know you, you can bet she knew your mom, dad or cousin, and they were probably her "sacker at Renier"! She enjoyed playing cards (Thirteen), working crossword puzzles, fishing, gardening, dancing, ceramics, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Life was an adventure with Esther and she made many memories with her lifelong friends Jim, Edna, Leona, Rosie, Blanche, Virginia and so many others!
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elva Campbell; her husband, John Myers; her son, Louie; her sister, Evelyn (Pee-Wee) Thormahlen; and her great-grandson, Ian Edmisten. She is survived by her companion and dear friend, Frank Nelson, who cared for Esther in her later years; and by her children, Don (Lois) Myers, Brett (Darcee) Myers and Dee Anna Edmisten; along with immediate family Randy (Karen) Goins, Dick (Stacy) Goins and Misty Thormahlen. She has nine grandchildren, Darla (John) Borges, Alena (Lou) Flores, Kimberly (Robert) Martinez, J.B. (Laura) Edmisten, Jennifer (Justin) Self, Sarah (Jeremy) Halverson, Felicia (Troy) Myers, Megan Myers and Maycee Myers. She has nine great-grandchildren, Abbie Edmisten, Sydnee Flores, Madeline Borges, Marissa Borges, Patrick Edmisten, Mattox Borges, Caleb Self, Andrew Jackson and Addalynn Halverson.
