Evelyn Fern Buttman, known to family and friends as "Evie," passed away on May 19, 2018, at the age of 71 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Buttman; daughter Cindy Buttman; and her father, Henry Klatt.
Evie was born and grew up in Killdeer, ND. She spent her youth on the family's farm, which she shared with her five siblings. She graduated from Killdeer High School and married her first husband shortly after. Living in California, she and her husband had Londell, their first son, in 1965. Corey, their second son, was born in San Jose, CA, in 1971.
In 1973, Evie met and married the love of her life, Jack Buttman. She was blessed with the daughters she never had, Cindy, Jackie and Shelly.
Evie was a very generous person who loved antique collecting, reading and gardening. For 23 years, Evie was the bookkeeper for Butt's Gun Sales, the family business. Being a very driven woman, she worked outside the home for other companies in the Billings area during her lifetime.
Evie also had a tender heart and loved dogs. She rescued and cared for many dogs that needed loving home.
Evie will be forever be remembered by her children, Lon (Roxanne) Bauer, Corey (Michele) Bauer, Jackie (Ricky) Thompson and Shelly (David) Snow. Evelyn will also be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., Billings.
A gathering will follow.
