Evelyn Deming, 96 was born at the family homestead on the "Big Flat" between Hogeland and Turner MT, the third child of John and Lottie Bergren. She graduated from Hogeland High School and was employed doing housekeeping and child care in Harlem MT before marrying Henry Deming in 1939. They resided in Turner where their four children were born. The third child, Lois Evelyn, died in 1945 when struck by a car in Kirkland WA while Henry was serving in the US Army.

The family moved to Cut Bank MT in 1950 while Henry became the manager of the local farm supply cooperative and Evelyn assisted with the bookkeeping. During the years in Cut Bank she served in the lunch program at St. Margaret's Catholic School and was active in parish activities in the Democratic Women's club. The couple relocated to Billings MT in 1976 where Henry was employed by the Co-op Service Center and Evelyn worked part-time at a women's apparel store.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings and by husband Henry and daughter Lois. She is survived by sons Henry Jr. (Kay) of billings, Ron (Nancy) of Spokane Valley Wa, and Jack (Deanna) of Great Falls, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. The Memorial mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
