Frankie Lynne Hollenback Blank, 71, of Billings, MT, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her home on Friday, November 18, 2022, after a brief illness. Frankie was born in Bozeman, MT, on May 14, 1951, to Frank J. and Marian (Bishop) Hollenback.
She was active in band and 4-H throughout high school. She was crowned Prom Queen and graduated from Bozeman Senior High in 1969. She then attended Montana State University, working toward a nursing degree, until she was married to Dale L. Blank on September 30, 1972. Before their amicable divorce 13 years later, they brought into the world two daughters, Angela Dawn, in March 1977, and Alicia Rae, in December 1979.
For most of her life she was a wonderful caregiver, both professionally and personally. She came by caregiving naturally and always took care of everyone else before herself. She was the most selfless, generous, and nonjudgmental person you could ever meet. She saw the best in everyone and accepted them for who they are.
She was an amazing seamstress and could create, alter, or repair anything. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones: deviled eggs for family gatherings, pull apart rolls and egg casserole for holiday brunches, and chocolate chip cookies for any or no occasion at all. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and HGTV, dancing with her friends in the High Plains Drifters dance club, and, most recently, keeping up on current events.
She loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone with her friends. She never knew a stranger and talked to everyone as though she had known them forever, including the cashier at the grocery store. She loved with all of her heart and soul, especially her family, daughters, grandchildren, and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her daughters Angela (Kevin) McWilliams, of Meridian, ID, and Alicia Blank, of Billings, MT; grandchildren Sam & Sophie of Meridian, ID, and Thadeus and Asher of Billings, MT; ex-husband and friend, Dale Blank, of Billings, MT; sisters Kathy (Dave Ponte) Hollenback, of Roundup, MT, Connie (Pat) Moore of Shelby, MT, and Julia Nance, of Bozeman, MT. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall on 2216 Grand Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations in her name be made to Catholic Social Services of Montana or Billings Christian School.
