On March 10, 2018, Gail Guscott went to join her husband Richard, mother Marion, father Vinton, brother Vin and sister-in-law Phyllis. What a celebration this must have been in Heaven!

Gail was born in Great Falls on Nov. 27, 1928. After several moves in her childhood, she attended college in Missoula, majoring in art, where she also became a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, where she made numerous lifelong friends. After college, she returned to Billings, where she met and married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Guscott. Dick worked for Carter Oil, now known as Exxon. The young couple adopted Janet and David before Dick's job transfer to Chicago. Gail was loving and devoted stay-at-home mom. It was while living in Chicago that Dick was unexpectedly taken from her by illness.

Gail bravely packed her two young children up in their green station wagon and returned to Billings to raise her son and daughter. After settling in Billings, she became a longtime employee of Western Security Bank, retiring in 1993. Gail was also a member of the First Congregational Church, as well as being involved with Public Broadcasting Service. Her true passion was for art, which eventually led her to Billings Studio Theatre. Her involvement knew no bounds. Her incredible talents blossomed from hand making costumes for hundreds of actors and actresses and designing sets for more than two decades and eventually ending up in the box office as the years passed.

Gail had many hobbies and joys in life, such as painting, singing, sewing, the love of animals, reading and games, in which she was very knowledgeable, sharp and highly competitive. She was also a wonderful cook, and today the family still shares many of her wonderful recipes. She took pride in passing these amazing legacies down to many members of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet and Kevin Wirth; two granddaughters, Amber and Ashley; son David and Lynette Guscott; two grandsons, Richard and Alex; along with four great-grandchildren.

There is not a day that will go by that we will not remember the love and guidance you gave us. You were the soul of our family; we will miss and love you until the day we meet again in Heaven!

A special Thank You to all the staff at The Springs at Grand Park for the many years of loving and compassionate care you provided our mother.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter or Billings Studio Theatre in the name of Gail C. Guscott.
