Gail Frichtl won the battle on January 3, 2006, and what a battle it was. After several years with multiple health problems, Gail went to her glory home with Jesus, where she joined her mother and her sister.

Gail was born in Chicago as Gail Joan Johnson on December 4th 1935 to Glenn and Agnes Johnson. She had two sisters, Margarett Hadley and Audrey McKinness (of Washington). Gail married Robert Frichtl in 1953. Together, they had two sons, Craig Frichtl (of Alaska) and Jay Frichtl (of Billings). She has five grandchildren, Chad and Cody Frichtl (of Alaska), and Hannah, Jonah and Molly Frichtl (of Billings).

As a child, Gail lived in Chicago, Minnesota and Washington. It was in high school, in Washington, where she met her husband of 52 years. Robert and Gail married in Washington and resided there for a while before moving to Montana.

After moving to Montana in 1960, Gail helped Robert open and run his business for several years. Aside from being a devoted wife and mother, Gail became active in the community with the Miss Montana organization, Cruisillo movement and many civic projects around the community. She loved music, dancing, cross country skiing, entertaining, traveling and everything to do with any Holiday. After Bob's retirement, they enjoyed wintering in Hilton Head, South Carolina or Port Ludlow, Washington.

We have said goodbye to an awesome wife, mother, grandmother and friend. It is true that you cannot get to heaven by your deeds, but if you could, Gail would have been at the top of the list. She was there for anyone, at anytime. For those who needed a place to stay or live, there was always room and time. Gail had a vivacious personality and a real zest for life. She touched many lives in her life and will have a place in their hearts as long as they live. She will be greatly missed!

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2006, at St. Thomas Church. Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Montana Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
