Gary Wayne Brese

Gary Wayne Brese was called home to Heaven on April 4, 2015. He was born in Billings on Aug. 6, 1952, to Jim and Eleanor Brese. A 1970 graduate of Billings Senior High School, he also earned a civil engineering degree from Montana State University in 1974. In 1976, he married Carol Kober and had a daughter, Claire, in 1978. Gary enjoyed fishing and hiking. He shared a wonderful sense of humor, caring for his family and an enthusiasm for helping others. He learned a lot working with his dad, building several projects. Gary loved all of his nieces and nephews, and was overjoyed at the birth of his grandson, Ivan, in 2013. He was an active member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter, Claire (Marc) Dearing; grandson Ivan; brother Ken (Donna) Brese; sister Jane Brese; niece Melanie (Mike) Jensen; nephews Zach Brese, Derek (Chrissy) Brese, JJ (Carina) Hale; numerous great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
