Geraldine L. Krauss

Geraldine L. Krauss of Billings, formerly of Oak Lawn, Illinois. 88 years old, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 22, 1933, the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Balaisis) Markunas, who have preceded her in death. Her husband, John Krauss, her daughter, Diane Krauss, and her brother Fredrick Markunas have also preceded her in death.

Gerry was a wonderful and giving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and much more to all. She loved camping as a family in her younger years. She worked in the cash office at Zayre and Walmart until her retirement. She loved to garden and she grew many vegetables every summer and would give them out to all. She loved to crochet and would make something almost every day. Her cheesy potatoes were the best as well as her homemade brownies. She loved conversations and would talk to anybody. She was a delight to know and all who knew her loved her.

She was a member of the Catholic faith and was very involved at her last parish St. Linus in Oak lawn, Illinois.

Surviving are her other children, David (Janie) Krauss of Billings; Eric Krauss of New Lenox, IL; Nancy Krauss of Billings, formerly of Oak Lawn, IL; her granddaughter, Katie (Krauss) (Greg) Burkhalter of Billings; her great granddaughters, Quinn and Luna Burkhalter, also of Billings. Also her brothers Ronald Markunas of Chapel Hill, NC; Stanley (Julia) Markunas of Bentonville, AR and Kenneth (Vilija) Markunas of West Newton, PA.

Memorial masses will be in the future in both Billings, MT and Oak Lawn, Illinois.
