Gertrude Reynolds Knight Harroun, 100, passed away on Jan. 27, 2012, with her family at her side. Gertrude was born on Oct. 24, 1911, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of Clifford and Antha Reynolds. The family moved to Montana in 1916 and lived in Melville, Harlowton and Big Timber. Gertrude moved to Billings in 1950. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Degree of Honor and the Moose Lodge.
Gertrude’s survivors include one son, Joe Knight, Billings; two daughters, Eleanor Adams, Billings and Deloris Hutton, Portland, Ore., and one brother, Hugh Reynolds, of Harlowton. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her father, mother, three brothers, one sister and two sons. She loved sewing, crocheting, cooking, canning, traveling and living life. She loved and cherished her family.
A funeral service will be held in Billings at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held in Harlowton, on Wednesday, as well, at 2 p.m.
