Harold L. Altimus – Truck Driver

Harold L. Altimus, 90, of Billings, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Deaconess Billings Clinic.

He was born in Livingston on April 28, 1915, the son of William B., and Margaret Elizabeth (Young) Altimus.

Harold earned his living driving truck from the age of 18 until retiring from Burlington Northern Transport in May of 1977. Previously he drove for Northern Pacific Transport, and H.F. Johnson among others. He won safe driving awards for 30 years. He loved to tell of his truck-driving experiences to his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary who passed away August 14, 1995. They were married in Laurel October 20, 1935. And by his brother William who passed away July 1, 1944.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Altimus and his wife Sharon of Billings and Larry Altimus and his wife Stephanie of Pearce, AZ; three grandchildren, Kari Humphrey of Billings, Keith Altimus of Ennis, and Craig Altimus of Billings; two great grandsons, Derek Humphrey and Dexter Humphrey; and a half brother Glen Warfield of Atwater, CA.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 11am Tuesday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary
