Harold L. “Dave” Davidson, 86 of Billings, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home.

The son of Harold and Helen Davidson, he was born December 21, 1928 in Lisbon, ND. Following high school, Harold served with the Army in Japan at the end of WWII. Harold received his bachelors’ degree from Valley City State and earned his Master’s Degree in 1964. He was an Associate Professor of Library Science at Eastern Montana College until his retirement. He had worked his way through Valley City State by running the family blacksmith shop. Harold married Elaine Light, December 28, 1952. She preceded him in death August 27, 1993, after 40 years of marriage. He married Kitty Field, June 14, 2005.

Harold was proud to be a Fellow with the Philalethes Society and of his long association with the Scottish Rite and as a 33rd Degree Mason. As a member of the Al Bedoo Shrine GI Drill Squad, Harold had worked tirelessly behind the scenes for the Shrine circus and was awarded ‘Hero of the Year’ (1992)

Harold is survived by his three children, Lee (Rod) Friedt, Kathie (Ken) Goodman and Scott Davidson, grandchildren, Jonathan (Lisa) Friedt and their daughters Anna and Quinn, Kristeena Friedt, Rabekka Friedt, Tyler (Kristina) Davidson, and Trent Davidson, and his sister Constance Ladbury. His sister, Francelle Hermence preceded him in death.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 10am, Friday, April 17th at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Memorial may be made to the Al Bedoo Shrine Crippled Children Transportation Fund.
