Herb ArmstrongHerbert Francis Armstrong passed away July 14, 2011 of natural causes. Herb was born Feb. 13, 1923 to Francis and Gladys (Zimmerman) Armstrong in Broadview, MT. His family moved to Havre in 1929. Herb enlisted in the Navy Seabees in 1942, served in the Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1945. Herb married Mary Mosbrucker on September 4, 1946. They made their home in Havre and later Billings. He spent most of his career with Texaco. He was a long time proud member of VFW.

Herb was a kind, gentle and compassionate husband, father and grandfather. His sense of humor and smile made us all smile with him. His quick wit and kindness was with him till the end. Family gatherings will always be a treasured memory.

Herb was preceded in death by son Robert Earl, son- in-law Stan Rubel, and sisters Clara Lowen and Doris Crocker.

He is survived by his wife Mary; children, Carol Rubel, Joyce (Rob) Miller and Susan (Perry) Paluck; Grandchildren Jeremy (Laura) Armstrong, Jessica (Eric) VanHemelryck, Christine (Lorne) Koch, Katelyn, Kelsey and Karly Miller, Tyler and Megan Paluck; Great-Grandchildren Shad, Aiden, Camten and Trinity Armstrong, Taycee and Kinsee VanHemelryck, Keira and Kade Koch. He is also survived by brother Earl (Annette) Armstrong, several nieces and nephews and Mary's extended family in Havre.

Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Monday, July 18 at Michelotti-Sawyers. Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19th at St. Pius X Church. Committal will be at the Yellowstone County Veteran's Cemetery.
