.Hewitt A. Jamieson, 92, of Billings, MT passed away March 20, 2012. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm, Monday April 9th at Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell, Wyoming, followed by a reception in Ferrin Hall at Union Presbyterian Church.

Hewitt was born in Ekalaka, MT January 15, 1920. The family moved to Powell, WY in 1928. He graduated from Powell HS in 1938 and served 4 years during WWII in an Army Air Corp ordinance section with overseas duty in the Pacific. Hewitt attended Carolina Business College in Charlotte, NC and returned to Powell to work for the Bureau of Reclamation, in whose employ he continued at Cody, Casper, Hardin, Yellowtail Dam, and Huron, SD. He retired after 39 years of federal service. In 1980, he moved to his brother’s ranch near Eden, WY where he lived for 3 years before returning to the Powell valley that he loved.

Hewitt married Geneva (Jennie) Agee in Worland, WY on December 28, 1948. They have two children, Jean and Scott.

Hewitt enjoyed fishing and hunting most of his life in Wyoming. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He welcomed involvement with all family activities. Garden and yard work were a high priority with Hewitt. After a stroke, Hewitt followed news, sports and politics on TV.

In June 2010, Hewitt and Jennie moved to Sweetwater Retirement Community in Billings, MT. They made many new friends and Hewitt was frequently complimented on his great smile.

Hewitt is survived by his wife Jennie, daughter Jean Ross and her husband Terry Funk of Billings, MT, son Scott and his wife Lona Sepessy and grandchildren Claire and Whitaker of Seattle, WA, brother-in-law Jim Ellison (Anne) of Billings, members of his wife’s family, and many wonderful nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mabel Jamieson, brothers Charles and Ross, and sisters Roberta Jacobs and Patricia Ellison.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Billings Clinic Hospital and Sweetwater Retirement for their dedicated care, compassion and assistance to Hewitt and Jennie.
