Irene Langeliers passed away June 16, 2022, leaving a legacy of 90 amazing years. Born on June 24, 1931, Irene VanSteeland grew up in Shepherd, MT, and graduated from high school in 1950. She told fascinating stories of riding her horse to school when weather allowed.
She married Lawrence Brunmeier and had three children: Kathleen, Carol and Larry, and worked for several years at Skaggs Drug. After a divorce, Irene married Les Langeliers in 1968, and enjoyed evenings showing off their square dance moves. Several years later, they moved to Arizona to enjoy retirement in the desert, where they learned to play golf and enjoy time with new friends. Irene enjoyed card games and Dominos, but if you played, you would need to bring your A-game, because she liked to win. She also enjoyed camping and fishing, and often claimed the biggest catch. Irene also loved gardening, and even made Arizona bloom.
Irene was the perfect blend of strength, determination, compassion, love and faith. Family was a high priority. Her later years were plagued by failing memory, but she never forgot her family!
Irene is survived by four children: Kathleen Larson, Carol Kimmell, Larry Brunmeier and John Langeliers, plus12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She now resides in Heaven knowing that her time here was well lived!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
