Iris Ellen Edeburn Tyre died March 17, 2012 at age 67 in Billings, Montana. She was born on July 24, 1944 in Williston, North Dakota to James A. Edeburn and Fredda M. Eldridge Edeburn. They farmed in Andes, Montana (near Sidney) before moving to Wellington, Colorado. Iris graduated from Wellington High School in 1962 as salutatorian.

She married Thomas E. Tyre in Fort Collins, Colorado where their son, Matthew E. Tyre was born. Several job transfers moved them to Buffalo, Wyoming, where their second son, Fred A. Tyre was born, then to Rawlins, Wyoming. They settled in Billings, Montana in 1978 to care for her parents.

Iris worked many years as an accounting clerk for various banks located in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. She also filled the role as customer service representative and secretary for several local companies.

Iris loved her family very much. She enjoyed serving others through her sons' schools or their church. Her favorite hobbies included arts, crafts, gardening and doll collecting.

Iris is survived by Thomas E. Tyre of Billings; and her two sons, Matthew (Heather) Tyre of Queen Creek, Arizona and Fred (April) Tyre of Fort Dodge, Iowa. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Morgan, Sheridan, Katherine, Gavin and Deven Tyre. Iris is also survived by many cousins and close friends, including Betty Ochs Frost and Marjorie Foss.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, April 6th, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Avenue, Billings, MT 59102. Interment will follow at Mountview Cemetery, with a reception immediately following at Central Christian Church, 1221 16th Street West, Billings, MT. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a Mental Health Foundation.
