Isabel "Izzy" Bender Wegner, 87, died Friday, August 14, 2015 surrounded by her family at Primrose Assisted Living in Billings.

Izzy is survived by her three sisters, Alice, Marie and Ann, brother Val and daughter Wanda Frank and son John (Linda) Bender both of Billings. She lovingly nurtured 3 grandsons and a granddaughter, 2 great grandchildren and one more on the way.

Izzy married Urban Bender in the fall of 1952 and raised their children in Billings. After Urban passed, Izzy worked for 17 years as a baker at Evergreen IGA until her retirement. After her retirement she married Ed Wegner and the couple enjoyed traveling, visiting family and Polka dancing until she fell ill.

One of Izzy's most talked about memories was the trip she took to Germany with her best friend. She spent many holidays regaling her children and grandchildren with stories of growing up in North Dakota as a farm girl and how it compared to today's Billings that the children knew.

Services celebrating her life will be 11am, Thursday, August 20th at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with a gathering to follow at the Knights of Columbus. She will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Billings.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the American Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
