Jack W. McKee, 83 of Billings, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Billings Clinic.
The son of Kenneth G. And Pauline McKee, Jack was born January 10, 1923 in Billings. He graduated from Billings Senior High in 1940 and attended Montana School of Mines and Western College of Auctioneering.
Jack entered the US Navy in 1941 and served with the Seventh Fleet in the Pacific. He was a Gunners Mate on a destroyer in the "Battle of Leyte Gulf" and received a commendation for performance of duty in combat beyond the call of duty. He was called to Naval duty again in 1950 during the Korean War.
He married Margaret Dean in August 1945. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this past August 21st.
Jack was employed by Keefe Auto Supply after the Korean War and worked at the Stockman in Billings. His love of sales led him to a long career as a wholesale manufactures representative based in Denver, Colorado, retiring in 1987.
He was an active member of the Elks Lodge where he enjoyed playing cards with he friends and was also a member of the American Legion Club.
Jack is survived by his wife Margaret, brother Kenneth McKee of Bowie, Maryland, daughters, Kathy Rotert (Larry) of Topeka, KS, and Sheila Lillis (Don) of Billings, his son Jack McKee, Jr., (Sheryl) of Billings, 8 grandchildren, Mark and Brett McKee, Jessica Metoui, Joel, Margaret, and Kathryn Rotert and Jack and Brooke Lillis, and three great granddaughters, Amanda McKee, Amira Metoui, and Reese McKee.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1pm Thursday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with a reception to follow at the Billings Elks Club, 934 Lewis Avenue.
