Jack Mueller Profile Photo

Daddy always told us four girls to eat our vegetables so we, too, could grow hair on our chests. Jack F Mueller died on May 27, 2012 after having Parkinson's rob him of his mobility, his speech and his intellect. Jack, the only son of Ernst and Emma (Laffman) Mueller, was born in West New York, New Jersey on April 15, 1924. Dad was a child when his father died. This early loss shaped Dad in to a man who worked long and hard to support his family. Jack was drafted in to the Army before he could accept his scholarship to engineering college but his posting as a P O W guard in Billings brought him together with the love of his life, Romelda. Jack took 10 years to earn his civil engineering degree while working and raising a family. Jack and his wife, Romelda, worked together to create and run Mueller Engineering, Inc. Jack learned how to windsurf after he and Romelda retired and moved to Maui. Once a windsurfing instructor convinced a young man to try the sport by pointing at Jack out on the water and saying "If an old guy like that can do it, certainly YOU can." Together Jack and Romelda traveled around the world, created a community garden, golfed and enjoyed visiting family.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Jeanne A Scharff who died just 3 weeks ago and Romelda, his wife of 66 years. He is survived by daughter Linda Hamilton (John Drost) and grandchildren Lisa Hamilton (Mark Strevels), Jack (Heather) Hamilton, and Jay (Jessica) Drost with great granddaughters Kylie and Audriana; daughter Jeanne (Randy) Brown and grandchildren Lail (Emily) Brown with great granddaughters Charlotte and Sylvia and David (Sarah) Brown with great granddaughter Samantha and great grandson Ezekiel; daughter Susan A Mueller; and daughter Nancy Mueller (Abdullah Ramhormoz) and grandchildren Soraya Ramhormoz (Brent Calhoun) and Zaal Ramhormoz. A private family service will be held on a beach in Maui at a later date. Memorials may be given to: American Parkinson's Disease Association or American Cancer Society. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Arbor Day Foundation or plant a tree in remembrance of Jack.
