Jake Haun

Jake Haun, 19 of Laurel, passed away on September 3, 2008 after a tragic accident. He was born on May 5, 1989. He was the light in so many lives. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with "the love of his life," Holli Schriener and with his best friend Jim Nelson. He was the comedian of his family. His smile could light up the whole room. He will be missed intensely by the many lives his gentle nature touched.

He leaves behind his parents, Donald and Cindy Haun; brothers, Mike (Brandi) Haun and Brian (Chandra) Haun; the love of his life, Holli Schriener; beloved nieces, Ethney and Brooklyn Haun; grandparents, Virginia Maxwell and Joe Haun; uncles, Marvin Maxwell, Jr. and Bob Maxwell; aunts, Mary Kay (Dean) Hodges, Mary Joe (David) Burcl; and numerous cousins and friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Marvin Maxwell, Sr. and Leroy Foster; grandmother, Mary Foster; and cousin, Lynn Waits.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Burial and Graveside Services will follow at Laurel Cemetery. The casket will be open at Michelotti-Sawyers on Saturday and Sunday 12-5 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday.

Donations can be made to the Jake Haun Memorial Fund at Western Security Bank of Laurel.

Jake we want you to know that we could NOT have ever picked anyone better for our daughter to spend her time with. You were always such a kind, gentle hearted boyfriend and we appreciate the kind of love you shared with her. You are going to be missed so dearly that words can’t even express how we feel. So many hearts and lives were touched by Jake. He was the one of the best people that I ever could have had the honor to call my friend. He was always smiling and full of humor. I know I will miss him, but I can say I was one of the lucky ones that had the oportunnity to befriend such a wonderful person. Rest in peace Rabbit!! Your friend, Amy
