James Miller, 71, of Billings, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017. James was born on Aug. 7, 1946, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Art and June Miller.
Jim grew up and graduated high school in Columbus, North Dakota. He was an avid athlete, competing in track, baseball, football and basketball.
Jim was drafted into the Army and served from 1966 to 1968. He started working at the Wolf Point Post Office in 1969. He married Vera O'Tremba in 1970, and they lived in Wolf Point until he was transferred to Billings in 1980, where he retired from the Post Office in 2003. Jim also worked at West Park Dentures from 2004 to 2013.
He loved to shoot hoops and was always up for a game of horse. He was a huge Celtics and Saints fan. He was the guy who would always root for the underdogs. He also loved to fish, draw, go rock hunting with his grandkids and he was always ready to tell a joke. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Art and June Miller, and wife Vera Miller.
Jim is survived by his son, Matthew Miller (Leah Miller); and two grandchildren, Krimsyn and Noah.
A memorial service for Jim will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Freedom Church, 550 32nd St. W. in Billings.
