James A. Van Ruth

James A. Van Ruth, of Park City, passed away with his daughters and grandson, Liam, by his side on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

Jim was born on April 11, 1950, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Wilfred and Wanda Van Ruth. Jim grew up in Cut Bank, where he attended school. After school, he went to work driving truck and working in the oil fields. He enjoyed life on the road and continued driving truck throughout his life. Jim was a hard worker and played as hard as he worked. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Helping people out was also something Jim had a passion for; if anyone was ever in need, Jim would always be there to help. Jim's greatest loves were his grandchildren, who will miss him greatly.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda; and his brother, Gene Ayers. Jim is survived by his daughters, Chrissy McDougall (Erik), LaWanda Van Ruth and Renee Hawkins; his grandchildren, Amber, Cody, Patrick, Liam, Keeley, Jessy and Isobella; and his sister-in-law, Kathy Wilson.

A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Laurel Eagles, 313 W. Main, Laurel.
