Jaye Marie Uzelac Heit

Jaye Marie Uzelac Heit of Billings Montana, passed away at the age of 60 on the morning of Nov. 2, 2022, just a day shy of her 61st birthday. Jaye passed away with her husband Mark by her side after a short battle with cancer. She was welcomed with open arms at heaven’s gates by her mother and father.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1961, in Billings, to Joseph and Donna Uzelac. She was the oldest child with two younger brothers, Joe and John Uzelac (even though she would never admit it). After Jaye graduated from West High School in 1980, where she enjoyed her high school years as a Flag Girl, she then went on to get her business degree at Eastern Montana.

In 1993, Jaye met Mark Heit at Desperados Bar. After 15 wonderful years, they went on to get married on Aug. 8, 2008. Although she never had children of her own, she sure did love all her nieces and nephew.

Jaye worked for many years at Fireside Lanes, where she found a love for bowling and played on a blowing league that she truly enjoyed. She was a kind, gentle person who loved spending time with her husband, family and friends at TC’s, enjoying a cold Bud Light in the evenings.

Jaye was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Donna Uzelac. She is survived by her husband, Mark Heit; brothers Joseph (Kathy) Uzelac, John (Pam) Uzelac; nephew Steven (Lisa) Nicol; nieces Dani Nicol, Mackenzie (Kooper) Bond, Shelby Uzelac, Joely Uzelac, Amber (Breezy) Uzelac, Catie (Chase) Leininger; great-nieces Bailey and Parker Bond, Swayer Uzelac, Murphy Uzelac; and great-nephews Brody and Beckham Leininger.

A celebration of life will be held for Jaye at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., with reception to follow at the American Legion 1540 Broadwater Ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Cancer Center.
