Jean Schindele

Jean Schindele passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2016, with her family by her side.
Born to Elsie and Earl Smith in Atkinson, Neb., Jean graduated from Battle Ground, Washington High School. She spent the majority of her life in Billings. She was an active member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Freedom Church, enjoyed golf and tennis, and could play a mean hand of cards.
She is survived by her son, Richard Evans; daughter Shelly (Rich) Nauman; grandchildren Jeannie (Paul) Martinson, Cal Nauman, Megan Nauman; great-grandchildren Carter Martinson, Addison Welch-Ray; and sister Alice Jarboe. She was preceded in death by daughter Merilee Lube, brother Ralph Smith, and grandson Jon Thomas Ray.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1241 Crawford Drive. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Ministries or Eagle Cliff Manor.
