Jeanne AustinJeanne slipped quietly from this earth on March 6, 2008.

Mary Jean was born on March 2, 1945 to Rosemary & Edward Steffani in Great Falls. She was raised by her parents Rosemary & Tom Kelly in Wolf Point and Billings. She married Melvin C Austin and was later divorced.

She is survived by her sons: Melvin Allan (Debbie) Austin and Robert Wade Austin and her grandsons: Nathan, Christopher, and Kyle. She is also survived by her mother Rosemary Kelly, her sisters: Carol (Tom) Holy, Katy (Jerome) Ries, Peg (Lew) Ward, her brothers: Tom (Jo) Kelly, Terry (Rose) Kelly, and Patrick Kelly, her Aunts: Cathleen Kelly and Bernice Richards, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Tom, and her father, Ed, who was killed in action in WWII four months before she was born.

Jeanne enjoyed her cats, dogs, many friends, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, collecting pig figurines, and most of all her Pepsi.

The family knows the first requirement for Jeanne’s place in Heaven is a nearby Kwik Way store for her nightly trip for a Pepsi & a newspaper.

Vigil services will be 7pm Tuesday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be 12 noon, Wednesday at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral

Dear Rosemary, Tom, Carol, and Tom (Tommy), Mary Jean’s children I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mary Jean’s passing. It has been some many years since we were neighbors and childhood friends in WP. I have rich memories and funny stories of those days. Only in the last few years did I learn through Robert Hovey that much of the family lived in Billings. I’m thinking of you all and Mary Jean’s children and grandchildren in this sad time. Peace. Allan and Bobby, Even after the divorce your mother and I remained good friends. You boys were always the center of her world and were always a part of the conversation. So hard to believe our BEAUTIFUL soft hearted loving Jeanne is gone. She will forever live on in our hearts.

So sorry to hear about Jeanne’s passing, but now we know she is no longer suffering. She was such a sweet lady and always a joy to run into at the grocery store and visit with. She was so wonderful to Charlotte Schlosser when she was sick. Sorry we cannot make it to either of the services, as we have other commitments. Our sympathy goes out to the family. Allan and Bobby, Your Mom was a special person! I was so surprised to hear of her death. She will be missed! When my Mom was so sick, your Mom would come out to our house and do her hair for her. We all looked forward to those times because she was so much fun to visit with. After I moved away I didn’t get to see that much of you guys and your Mom, but I have often thought of you through the years. I wish I could have made it to the service. Allan & Bobby, I was sad to see that your Mom passed away. I don’t know if you even remember me, but when you guys were little your Mom was studying for Beauty College and she let me read the questions to her for the State board exam when she was getting ready to take the test.
