With a heavy heart, we mourn the passing of Jeanne Kahle, 91, on May 11, 2024. Jeanne passed away at the TenderNest Assisted living, where she lived for just a short two months after the passing of her husband Don, who passed on Feb. 12, 2024. They were married for 68 years.
Jeanne was born on March 25, 1933, to Francis and Anna O’Donnell. Jeanne had a twin brother, Jerry, and sisters Dorothy and Kathleen. Jeanne was proud of her Irish heritage. In 1970, the family moved from Topeka, Kansas, to Billings.
Jeane was a special person and that could not be more personified in the work she did for decades as an RN. She took pride in her 40 years as an emergency room nurse, spending her career at Sisters of Charity Leavenworth in Topeka, Kansas, and Saint Vincent’s hospital in Billings.
Jeanne believed that you made food from scratch. Over the years, she made countless recipes to include homemade biscuits, angel food cake and her famous Blarney Stones. No St. Patrick’s Day was complete without them. Many memories were made in “The Kahle Kitchen” with family and friends.
Jeanne loved her dogs. She had many over the years and treated them like her kids. She spoiled them and took them on long walks daily near her home in The Rims. She cherished their companionship and all were lucky enough to have been part of her life.
Jeanne followed the NFL and could be found on Sundays cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs.
Jeanne was a wonderful mother and was a special friend to many whom she met over the years; many of these friendships lasted a lifetime. You knew Jeanne would be "Storming The Heavens" whenever you needed prayers.
She leaves behind her four children, Kent (Kerry), Kris (Kim), Kirsten (TJ) and Karen (Bob). She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Stevie, Devin, Morgan and Taryn; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Luka. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy, brother Jerry and grandson Davis.
Jeanne’s Catholic faith was very important to her. A vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Drive, followed by a reception at the church.
