Jerold A. "Jerry" Mehus, 72, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2015. He was born on Aug. 4, 1942, in Columbus, the son of Alvin and Esther Mehus. After graduating from high school in Big Timber, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He began his career in the Dental division on the USS Oriskany aircraft carrier. On Sept. 4, 1966, he married Sandy Bentz, and they moved to Los Angeles, where Jerry received his certification in Dental Technology. In Billings, he owned Tri Tech Dental Lab, doing crown and bridge work. He was also the Trade Center Supervisor at Holiday Inn, and a custodian for Billings Schools. Jerry was a Scoutmaster for Troop 10 at American Lutheran Church since 1980. He loved working with the Scouts, many receiving their Eagle Scout rank under Jerry's leadership. He was respected for the awards he earned - the Award of Merit, the Silver Beaver and the Lamb Award for Lutheran Adults. He was a strong, loving family man who helped raise three outstanding children. He loved hunting, especially camping at Glendive, paddle-fishing, waiting for the "Big One" on Memorial Day Weekend. Good memories for us all! Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandy; children Chris and wife Tami, Brian and wife Karyn and Brenda and husband Wayne Worley; and grandsons Codee, Kyler and Soren, who really made him smile! He is also survived by brother-in-law Jim Cusker and nieces and nephews in that family. A celebration of his life and love for family, God and country will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at First United Methodist Church, 2800 Fourth Ave. N.
