Jerry "Curly" Allen Burns, 83, of Billings, formerly of Ballantine, passed away on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at St. Vincent Healthcare.

Jerry was born on July 31, 1932, in Minot, N.D., to Irene and Harry Burns. Following high school, he served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He raced stock cars and was High Point Champion in 1966. He enjoyed watching his son race and playing cards. Jerry married Linda Biallas on Jan. 14, 1967. They farmed at Ballantine until moving to Billings in 2009. He drove truck for many years, working for GD Eastlick and Don Adams, and later drove a school bus, often driving the wrestling team.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Jay (Jami) Burns; his grandchildren, Mitchell and Megan; his sisters, Cindy (Dave) DesRosier of Big Sandy and their children Nicole and Danny, and Eldora Nielson of Missoula and her children Robbi, Tim and John.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Interment of cremated remains with military honors will be in Huntley Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Huntley Experiment Station.
