Dec. 6, 1935 - Nov. 29, 2016
Jill Ann Saumer was born in Canby, Minn., on Dec. 6, 1935, to Herbert and Ruth Saumer. During her childhood, she lived in Canby, Watson and Montevideo, Minn., with four siblings.
In December of 1978 she married the love of her life, Clem Zentner, in Mandan, N.D.
Jill spent a large portion of her life serving others in the social occupation of tending bar. She owned her own establishment in Taylor, N.D., for many years and continued to tend bar in her later years in Lockwood. Many friendships were built during this time.
She enjoyed cooking large holiday meals for her family and playing card games. She was an avid bowler, and spent many hours volunteering her time with Senior Services and Meals On Wheels.
Her witty humor will be missed by many.
Cherishing her memory are her children: Theresa Marsyla (JB Farley) and Arthur Marsyla (Kathy); her grandchildren: Curtis Schatz (Terry), Susanne Rodell (Chris), April Beddes, Jason Fasching (Tiffany), Taylor Marsyla and Zaria Christopher Marsyla; her four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her siblings: Ken and Peggy Saumer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clem, sisters Carol Saumer and Betty Grinager, and brother Lanny Saumer.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ryan Schwanke of Billings Clinic, Reverend Lane and RiverStone Hospice House for the care and compassion shown our mother and grandmother.
