Joel Tyler Benson

Joel Tyler Benson, 36, passed away June 23, 2015, unexpectedly at home.

Joel was born July 19th, 1978 in Billings MT. He was the 7th child of James & Belle Benson. He grew up in Colstrip, MT – in South Eastern Montana. He graduated from Colstrip High School in 1997.

Joel served 4 years in the US Army in Kuwait and Iraq and 4 years in the Reserves. He later graduated from MMI in Florida.

He was a 6'4" giant that all the kids and dogs loved to be around. He was always willing to help out family members with whatever they needed.

Joel loved the Big Horn Mountains and looked forward to spending time with all the family – four wheeling, fishing and just telling stories around the fire.

He was currently living in Billings, Montana working for Cody Shuttle Service. He was seeing a great lady named Jean. He loved spending time with her and her children.

He is survived by his mother Belle Benson, and siblings Brent and Debbie Parks, Jeff and Debi Jean Benson, Lance and Wendy Benson, David and Lisa Lewis, Michael and Karan Reno, Bart and Laura Benson. Lots of nieces, nephews and great nephews and soon to be great niece. He was preceded in death by his Father and 2 nephews Zachary and Spenser.

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2929 Belvedere Dr. Interment with military honors will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
