John Randy Bull Shows, 72, of Billings, Montana passed away on August 24, 2023 at his home. John was born on September 25, 1950 in Crow Agency, Montana to Grace Bull Shows. His Indian name is Sharp Shooter Balettcheitche` given to him by George Washington Hogan. John graduated from Phoenix Indian School in 1971 where he played basketball alongside his brother Samuel. He always loved to talk about their days there and the fun they had. John then enlisted in the army 1972-1975 he fought in the Vietnam war, he was very proud to have served his country. He continued his education and graduated from MSU-Billings with a bachelor's degree in Human Services. John loved his many grandchildren, they all brought him so much joy. He loved to watch them play in sports and hear of their accomplishments in school and to see them grow. His famous line '`What's the good word?” he was always wanting to know the latest news on anything.
John is preceded in death by his mother, his grandmother Lillian Hogan, his grandfather Caleb Bull Shows, Brothers Samuel and Darwin Bull Shows, Billy, Alex Jr., and Daniel Laforge, Sisters Brenda Bull Shows, Davine Big Lake, Patricia Arellano, nephews Kemuel and Bezaleel Bull Shows, Zachary and Ertis Jr Fighter, Marty Old Horn, Niece Kathy Old Horn, Alex Maxine Bull Shows-Laforge, daughter Elisabeth Garcia.
He is survived by his sons Lyle Bull Shows, John Joseph Michelitch, John Randy Bull Shows Jr. his brothers Victor Sr and Dean (Connie) Bull Shows, Adam (Bernice) Singer, Gordon Real Bird, sisters Iva Bull Shows, Mardel Plainfeather, Mary Hogan-Wallace, Nellie Sings in the Mountain, Nephews Solomon (Veronica), Enoch (Nickole), Harry and Victor Jr Bull Shows, Kendall (Bernice) Old Horn, Conklin Big Lake, Nieces Cara (Joe) Stephens, Cassandra (Gerardo) Trevizo, Alicia Fighter, Leah Big Lake-Hill, Grandchildren Jericho and Alexus Bull Shows, Samuel II and Genevieve Bull Shows, Sadie, Saina, NeNe, Joe IV, Samson, Kemie Stephens, Aliyah, London, Zander, Breyden, MacKinley, Willow, Aspen Bull Shows, Lawrence, Steven, Gerardo Jr. Trevizo, Treyden, Genesis, Tristan, Kailynn, Alina Strecker, Caleb Williams, Diego and Kalee Garcia. His companion Florence Garcia. Extended family Plainfeather, DeCrane, Bird Hat, Bell Rock, Little Owl, Flat mouth, Flat Lip, Other Black Bird, Beaumont, we apologize if we have missed anyone. We have a very large family, he loved his family and friends dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday August 28th in Crow Agency at the Multi-Purpose building. Interment to follow at Crow Agency Veterans Cemetery.
