John was born on Nov. 26, 1943, in Seattle, to Jack and Josephine Gusick. The family moved to Billings soon after, where John made his home for 75 years. Ann James (son Jeff) and they had two children, John Jr. and Crissy. He was member of the Montana Officials Association and loved to talk sports! He always knew the latest scores!
After a time working at Conoco, John and his brother Jim went into the bar business, where John was involved for 45 years. He loved being at the bar and talking with his customers who became friends.
John also loved to golf and spend time at his cabin on the Stillwater with his grandkids. John was a loving brother, father, Papa, and uncle. He was known to many as Uncle J or Holmes.
John is survived by his daughter, Crissy (Griff); grandkids Elise, Ashlyn and Chase; his brother and business partner, Jim (Sylvia); and nephews Marcus and Mike (Lynda); and his great-niece Remington.
