John Randall Hanson

John was born June 23, 1959, and raised in Scobey. He was the son of Fred and Shirley Hanson in the Silver Star Community south of Scobey. John graduated from Scobey High School in 1977. John devoted 20 years to his dream of recovering the family farm, which in turn contributed to the development of his successful career in the transportation industry. He was a gifted leader, a skilled communicator, and cared deeply for the people within the organization. John had a distinct infectious laugh that carried and could be recognized anywhere and he made friends everywhere he went. In overall general knowledge, he was one of the smartest people around. He spent his personal time working on vehicles, outdoor recreation, traveling and volunteering at the church.

He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. John passed away July 3, 2020 and is survived by his son, Travis (Alison); his two daughters, Ashley (Chad), Kaitlin (Jeff); and his seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Faith Chapel in Billings, with reception to follow. John's burial will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in Scobey, with a reception to follow at the Saddle Club.
