John "Jack" Ernest Wicks

John “Jack” Ernest Wicks passed away peacefully on the morning of Dec. 30, 2023, surrounded by his three children.

He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many. Jack was born on Aug. 29, 1938, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Paul and Minnie Wicks. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Wicks; stepdaughter Teri Tait Wiederholt; and stepson Gordon Tait.

Jack was a Farm and Ranch Appraiser for over 50 years. He attended Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. He then attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins for his Bachelor’s Degree and later earned his Master’s degree at Montana State University in Bozeman.

During his earlier years, he was married and had three children: Robert Wicks, Fritz (Melvin) Wicks and Kristi Wicks Timmermeyer. He later married Mona May and welcomed two stepchildren, Teri Tait Wiederholt and Gordon Tait (both deceased).

Jack was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He adored all of them and they truly fulfilled his life.

We remember Jack as a loving man who was supportive of his family and friends. He never met a stranger who did not become a friend. His favorite activity was to meet his friends and family for meals and coffee to share stories and laughter. He was caring and generous to all he knew.

He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed with his love and friendship.
