Joseph Heidecker passed away on March 23, 2017, following a short illness/cancer. Joe was born on March 28, 1931, and was educated in the Werner, N.D., farming area.
Joe served in the U.S. Army and moved to Billings in 1952, where he worked as a meat cutter. He married Karen Silta in 1956. Joe and Karen moved to northern Minnesota in 1971, where he owned several businesses, which allowed him to retire at an early age, giving them the freedom to travel from home to southern Texas, Alaska and Mexico. He returned in Billings in 2004. Joe loved woodworking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents Bill and Lena Heidecker; brothers Frank and William of Dickinson, N.D., and Pete of Cheney, Wash.; sisters Eva Brambo of Billings and Ann Brost of Stanley, N.D.
Joe is survived by brothers and sisters, Fred Heidecker of Dickinson, N.D., Alice Boese and Rose Ann Fettig of Billings, John (Theda) Heidecker of Grand Forks, N.D., and Robert Heidecker of Bozeman. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friend Shirley Bailey.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., Billings
