Joyce Louise Glennon died on April 8, 2015, in an atmosphere of peace and prayer, surrounded by her loving family. Her lifelong love of God and the Blessed Virgin were manifested in her 90 years of unconditional, unwavering love and devotion to family, friends, extended family and anyone she met.

Joyce was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Nov. 15, 1924, to Peter and Ernastine (Bell) Thelen. She was the third of seven children. The family moved to Wyoming and from there to Billings in 1936, where she met her best friend, kindred spirit and true love, Bill Glennon. They were married on Nov. 4, 1944, and shared 50 beautiful, devoted and amazing years together. They inspired and educated all with their exemplary commitment and love for each other and their faith-centered relationship. This union produced nine children, 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Joyce's life was spent in selfless and untiring service and dedication to her family. It is remarkable and beyond comprehension the joy she spread and the sincere delight she found in everyone she met. She had the uncanny ability to make everyone feel important and loved.

She was preceded in death by her dear parents; her cherished husband, Bill; her precious firstborn, Bill Jr.; her son-in-law, Bob Eakin; her daughter-in-law and house mate, Jeanne Glennon; and her little angel, Gracie Jo Glennon ; her treasured siblings Marion (John) Hanchett, Dick Thelen, Gloria (Wally) Frickle, Lorin Thelen, Leora (Roy) Frickle and Jim Thelen; her beloved father and mother-in-law, Leo and Laura Glennon; her sisters-in-law, Sister Alice Mary and Gert Williams.

Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses, Christine (Frank) Unquera, Mike (Cathy) Glennon, Nancy Eakin, Mary Ann (Larry) Reas, Laura (Jim) Winchell, John (Anne) Glennon, Joe Glennon, Daniel (Janet) Glennon; her daughter-in-law, Patty Glennon; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Marie, Lura and Jo Thelen; her brother-in-law, Ed Williams; her many nieces, nephews and all of the many people that she took under her wing and loved as her own.

"Mom was the ultimate teacher of faith, love, laughter and living life to the fullest!!! Heaven has been blessed, but our hearts are broken and you will be forever missed!"

Joyce's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent Healthcare that provided such professional yet loving and gentle care, especially Laura, Ken, Clint and all of their colleagues.

A vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at St. Pius X Church. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 13, at St. Pius X Church and the rite of committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
