Juanita Halterman D'Ewart passed away on June 3, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Juanita was born on July 5, 1934 in Spokane, Washington to Earl and Marion Halterman. She was the oldest of six girls and one boy. Juanita and her sisters loved to play pranks, on each other and whomever else was around. When they got together, nobody was safe from their practical jokes.

Juanita grew up in Post Falls, Idaho and in the summer of 1947, her family moved back to Spokane. Juanita stayed in Post Falls with family friends to finish eighth grade. That year was one she said would forever influence her life, because it was during that time that Juanita graduated as eighth grade valedictorian, and met the man she would one day marry, Robert ‘Bob' D'Ewart.

Juanita joined her family in Spokane in 1948 to finish her schooling at Lewis and Clark High School. Bob stayed in Post Falls but often traveled to Spokane to visit her family and build their friendship. They kept in touch through letters when Bob joined the Air Force, and on January 20, 1953 the two were married in Spokane, Washington.

Juanita was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She proudly supported all three of her sons while they served missions in Germany, England, and Arizona.

Juanita always took great pride in the jobs she held. With Bob in the Air Force during the first years of their marriage, the family moved frequently, but Juanita was always able to hold a steady job while also raising her three sons. In 1996, she retired from Sysco Foods in Billings, Montana.

Juanita loved spending time with the people she loved. She enjoyed visits with her sisters, kids, grandchildren, and friends. She made an effort to be at every big event in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and she and Bob were often travelling to visit family. Juanita was never one to turn down a good party, so she loved the Halterman family reunions and the opportunity to mingle with family and catch up on their lives.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Bob, children Brian (Sandy), David (Dana), Jay (Terie), grandchildren Trent (Brittani), Andy (Aynsley), Alyessa, Kameron (Emily), Daniel, Dustin, Derek, Jayme (Jordan) Eatough, Amy, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marion Guffin, Sharon Pruett, Carol Newell, and her brother Ray Cox. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Dorothy Stanfield and Ruth Ann Halterman.

Following Juanita's requests, there will not be a funeral service. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Micholotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Avenue, to celebrate her life.
