Judy Joanne Hout Carter, 66, passed away from Lewy body Dementia on the 15th of December, 2015, at RiverStone Hospice in Billings. She was born on Dec. 5, 1949, in Miles City, to Fred and Emilie Moos Hout.

Judy grew up in Miles City. She graduated on June 5, 1969, from Custer County High School in Miles City. After high school, she married Gary Carter on June 7, 1969. They were happily married for 46 years. She worked as a barmaid at the Rangeriders Lounge and she also was a waitress . She and Gary moved to Billings in 1971. She sold Avon and she started working at Sears in the tool department. She spent a summer merchandising for Kool-Aid. This is where she found her passion for sales. She started work for George L Tracy Company as a Sales Rep. She also worked for Bromar Tristate, where she started as an Outside Sales Person and later moved into a Retail Operations Manager. She retired from Acosta. Judy preformed all the Food Broker work while running Carters Mobile Home Service for 13 years. Judy loved her work and traveling for work. Judy had many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers; cooking for her family; camping and boating. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Hout, Emilie Hout; and her infant brother, James Franklin Hout.

Judy is survived by her spouse Gary of Billings; her daughter, Amber McCann and her husband Burt McCann of Gillette, Wyo.; her son, Ryan Carter of Billings; her siblings, Patricia Hout Mackey and her husband Herb of Miles City, Dave D. Hout and his wife Melanie of Worland, Wyo., and Arlene Emilie Hout and her husband Dirk Semenza of Great Falls; her grandchildren, Alexis Carter and Carter Graves; her step-grandchildren Heather McCann McCullough and her husband Tony, Dustin McCann and his wife Ashley, and Dakota McCann; her step great-grandchildren Rhianon McCann, Dillon McCann and Emeri McCullough ; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. A memorial service and reception will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 345 Broadwater Ave., Billings. A viewing will be held before and after the service. Cremation will follow.
