Judy Kay Rowland

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Kay Rowland. She passed peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease in the early morning hours of January 12, 2025. Judy was born on September 8th, 1954 to Kenny and Joan Rambold in Billings MT and was the second of 5 children (Jeanne, Kenny, Stacey and Ginger). Judy met Francis Rowland, the love her life, when she was in 8th grade. They were married August 17th, 1974 and shared 50 wonderful years together.

Judy and Francis went on to have four beautiful children; Ramsey, Tyler, Carly and Haley. Judy was born to be a mother. That was her most important job and she was one of the best. She also was an amazing cook and if you got to enjoy one of her signature dishes, consider yourself lucky.

Judy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011 and she handled that diagnosis with dignity and grace. She continued to smile, giggle and enjoy life only the way that Judy could. Without her the world is too flat, simple, reasonable, and fair. She will be missed immensely by those that loved her. A huge thank you to all the staff especially Kyrsten at Stillwater Hospice for all the care they provided.

She is proceeded in death by her Son Ramsey, and her parents Kenny and Joan.

She is survived by her husband Francis, her children, Tyler, Carly(Kevin) Clapper, and Haley Rowland(Rick). Her siblings, her grandchildren (Jameson, Rowen, Victoria, Sabyn and Crimson) and many friends.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be planned for later in the summer enjoying the Montana sunshine, one of the things she loved most. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Race for the Minds.
