June Austin-Butler, 93, passed away at her home January 7, 2018. She was born August 17, 1924 in Chicago Illinois and spent her school age years in Western Springs and LaGrange Illinois studying classical ballet and learning golf from her father. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and, by taking classes every summer, graduated at the age of 19. She then enlisted in the Coast Guard during WWll and was in charge of organizing physical activities for the service men and women. Her life led her to Billings Montana where she opened a ballet school. She continued studying dance enrolling in workshops in New York City (some of these from the renowned Alvin Ailey) and Utah. She choreographed dances for her students performing with the Billings Symphony, for High School plays and for the mature tap dancing women performing for various organizations. Her second love was golf and she played many early morning rounds in the women's league at the Yellowstone Country Club.

She was preceded in death by Milton Kuhleman, Charles Austin, and Dr. Bill Butler.

She is survived by her two daughters; Susie Snyder and Chris Dorr (John); her grandchildren, Kelsey Keene (Taylor), Adam Keene, Abbey Holm (Ryan); and her great granddaughter Svea Holm.
