Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Kenneth E. Malsbury of Billings, left this world on October 24, 2011, after 94 years. Ken was born on June 10, 1917, the son of Earl and Ethel (Boling) Malsbury in Mankato, KS.
Ken moved to Montana in 1937 to help his step-father plaster homes. He joining the Marine Corps on January 21, 1942. While in the Marine Corps, Kenneth was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1945, following being wounded in Guam and receiving the Purple Heart. He returned to Billings and went to work for Gamble Skogmo. He retired from there after 30 years of service. Following retirement, he did grounds work at the LDS church on Wicks Lane.
On August 24, 1946, Ken married Dorothy Mossman in Billings. This union was blessed with two children, Murry and Linda. Dorothy passed away in 1995. Ken later formed a friendship with Florentine Obie, and they married in 1996.
Ken loved spending time in his garden, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid dancer. He made quite a desirable dance partner, being asked by the ladies for many dances at the OAKS. Many friendships were formed there.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Velma , Lowell "Murry", and Ruby; and wife Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife Florentine Malsbury of Billings; son Murry (Carmen) Maslbury of Renton, WA; daughter Linda (David) Neff of Brighton, CO; 2 grandchildren, Mark and Kelli; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 28, at St. Bernard's Parish. The casket will be open at church 1 hour prior to the service. Rite of committal and military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to RiverStone Hospice.
