Larry A. Heidt, 77, passed away with family by his side at St. Vincent's hospital on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.

Larry was born on Jan. 24, 1941, in Red Oak, Iowa. Larry graduated in 1959 from Spanish Fork, Utah, where he went on and did three years at Fresno State and BYU and six years in the National Guard. He continued his career in becoming a Civil Engineer. Larry and his wife of 52 years, Sandra, lived in Billings since his retirement from the Bureau of Reclamation. His work took them to many different locations throughout California and ended in Phoenix, Arizona. Afterward, they settled in Billings.

Larry loved camping, fishing and hunting. On many occasions, he would go on fishing adventures with his brother Kent and come home with many stories. He enjoyed the quiet time on the water. He also enjoyed gardening during his retirement, and sharing the fruits of his labor with his friends and family. Larry was a man of few words, but when he spoke, he was very witty and smart. You always could enjoy a conversation with him ending in laughter and information. His conversation and friendship will be missed, but never forgotten.

Larry is preceded in death by parents Vern and Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his children, Mark, Brian and daughter-in- law Christy, all of Billings; his brother Kent and sister-in-law Janet of Oregon; his grandchildren, Terry and Torrie Zellers of Fairbanks, Alaska, Jonathan Brown of Billings, Harley and Vivian Brown of San Diego, California, Ryan Heidt of Billings. Sylvia Heidt of Billings and Ferrin Heidt of Phoenix; his great-grandchildren, Elena Marie, Ethan Allen and Luna and Deirdra Brown.
