Larry Eugene Schleining
February 28, 1952 — January 30, 2023
Larry Eugene Schleining AKA Cheeseburger was 70 years old when he passed peacefully at his home on Jan. 30, 2023.
Larry was born and raised in Billings and graduated from Senior High School. He did a short stint in college, then was drafted and served two years in the U.S. Army as a sharpshooter. He was an avid dirt bike rider, winning the Great American Hillclimb of 1969 at the age of only 17 years old! He was very proud of that accomplishment!
He was a hardworking truck driver. Trucking was his life. When he wasn’t driving truck, he would be in his garage, tinkering and polishing on his dirt bikes or hot rods.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Knaub, and survived by his father, Kenneth Schleining. Survivors also include his wife, Tracy Schleining; children, of whom he was very proud: Kenny, Jamie and Brittney; six grandchildren, Cooper, Piper, Xander, Koy, Macen and Jazalea; and brothers Terry Schleining and Dan Schleining.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
