Lauren “Duke” Camille DuPuis, 73, passed away Thursday, July 16th, 2015 with the love of his life, Phyllis Dale Burger and his beloved son, Michael Dale, by his side at St. Vincent Hospital after a long, courageous battle against cancer. He was born March 13, 1942 in Minot North Dakota to Camille and Frances DuPuis. He attended Central High School in Billings Montana, after which he enlisted in the Air Force. During his service he served two tours in Vietnam. Before his retirement from the Air Force he received many awards for the flight line tools he designed. He was a lifetime member and President of the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 334. In 2015 Vietnam Veterans of America awarded Lauren the Achievement Medal for his work and care with the veterans. In 2009 he received the Bright n’ Beautiful yard beautification award. Lauren was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Ohio State Buckeyes, the New York Yankees, and #24 Jeff Gordon NASCAR. He loved people especially sports fans; but most of all he loved his family and serving his country with pride. He is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis Dale Burger, and her son Michael Dale; Daughters Teri, Francis and Julia; Sons Lauren and Kevin DuPuis; Siblings Pamela Fraser of Stormsville Ohio, Renee Brethertob of Saint Cloud Minnesota, Debra Schaffer of Boise Idaho, Kandra Biggs-Burton of Kuma Idaho, Taryn Leikam of Richland Washington, Rod Schaeffer of Springfield Missouri, and Rock Schaffer of Scottsdale Arizona. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. July 23, 2015 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Internment with military honors will be at Mountview Cemetery.
