Lavonne Gilliam

LaVonne Gilliam was born in Minneapolis on March 26, 1941, and died peacefully at RiverStone Hospice House in Billings on July 28, 2016. She was 75 years old.
LaVonne lived most of her youth in Helena. She had a bachelor of science in rehabilitation from EMC (MSUB) in Billings. Her work life consisted of being a hospital social worker in Missoula and an employment counselor in Billings until she retired.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; her son, Mark Wells; and a grandson, Chris Wells.
She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel; son John Wells and wife Bonnie "BJ"; daughter Rebecca Wortman and husband John; daughter-in-law Chari Wells; three granddaughters; two brothers and five sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to those at RiverStone Hospice House who gave LaVonne extraordinary care. And a very special thank you to LaVonne's daughter-in-law BJ Wells, who stayed with LaVonne and provided her comfort and love to the very end.
Funeral services with be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Avenue B. Donations may be made to RiverStone Hospice House in LaVonne's honor.
