Lenore O. Lee, 100, passed away May 16, 2018, in Billings.
Lenore will best be remembered as being the life of the party and telling funny jokes! In her younger years, she was an avid golfer and spent almost every afternoon on the golf course. She loved playing cards, her electronic solitaire game, doing crossword puzzles and reading books. You could always find jelly beans in the bottom of her pockets! She adored her grandchildren, and was known as "GG" or "Grandma Great" by her great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Lenore Bang was born on Sept. 20, 1917, to Wilhelm and Pearl (Engh) Bang in Plaza, North Dakota. At 6 months old, her family moved to McCanna, North Dakota, and lived there until she was a teenager. Her family then moved to Larimore, North Dakota, where she attended high school and met her future husband, A. Gordon Lee "Gordy." Lenore and Gordy were married on June 21, 1939. They lived in Larimore, where they raised their four children. They owned and operated Lee's Creamery with his brother. They moved to Lakota, North Dakota, in 1966, where they ran the Coast to Coast store, until retiring in 1977. Gordy passed away on Dec. 1, 1996. A year later, Lenore moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. She resided there until September 2007, when she moved to Billings and lived there until her death.
Lenore is survived by three daughters, Linda (Pete) Trask, Penny (Dan) Jordahl, Jeri (Rick) Ouradnik, all of Billings; one son, Bill (Jan) Lee of Grand Forks, North Dakota; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Dorothy.
