Leonard W. Golding, age 83, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones at his side on November 22, 2021. He was born on October 23, 1938, to Ken & Beth (McDonald) Golding in Albany, NY.

After graduating from high school, Len joined the U.S. Air Force and married the love of his life, Patricia Fredette. Len & Pat spent the next 20 years as a military family, raising 3 children and moving from base to base, from one side of the country to the other, finally settling in Great Falls, MT, where Len retired from the Air Force in 1976.

Following retirement, Len found his true calling as a salesman. He had a successful career at Sears, and then as a kitchen designer, which he continued following their move to Billings in 1995.  He finally retired from full time work in 2000.

Len loved being around people too much to sit at home, however, and worked part-time after his retirement at several senior living facilities in Billings, doing maintenance and transporting residents. He & Pat moved to Morningstar Senior Living in 2018, where they made many good friends, including Stacie Kautzman and several others with whom Len had worked at Highgate and Morning Star.

In 2016 Len & Pat were baptized into Christ at the Billings Church of Christ, where they became part of a huge family and made several wonderful friends. Our family would like to thank everyone from the church who have been so loving and helpful over the last several years.

Len’s family was his greatest joy, and he is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Pat; daughters Lynda (Kelly) Hoover and Lori (Jack) Austin, and son Mark (Jolinda) Golding; as well as five beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Beverly Farley and Barbara Tuite. Len was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ken Golding, and sister Beth Carol Dougherty.

Visitation will be at Michelotti-Sawyer Mortuary on Sunday, November 28th from 3-6 pm. A memorial service will be held at Billings Church of Christ (1220 10th Street) on Monday, November 29 at 11 am, followed by a meal for family and friends. Military burial will follow at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, to be attended by the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org) .
