It is with immense sadness that the family of Les “Ace” Allan Bayers, 66, is announcing his passing on Oct. 24, 2024, surrounded by his children and loved ones.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children: Taryn Kokkeler, Chelsey DeWitt, Randee (Jesse) Wells, Christopher (Miranda) Brown, Jenna (Shane) Bayers; grandchildren: Bayley, Devin, Roxy, Zaidyn, Waylon; brother: Dan (Nancy) Belk; stepfather: Jean Nesheim; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, great-nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and John Bartlett; his mother, Connie Nesheim; his father, Donald Belk; and his brother, Jay Bayers.
Les was born on Dec. 10, 1957, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Connie (Belk) Nesheim and Donald Belk. In his lifetime, he lived in numerous places. Early on in his life, he lived in Montana, California and Alaska. By the eighth grade, Les and family moved to Roundup, where he was on the football team and finished high school in 1976
Out of high school, he went into the Navy and served for four years. When his time in the Navy came to an end, he found himself back in Alaska for a couple of years to adventure on fishing boats. After that, he landed back in Roundup, where he spent many years in the oilfield and started his family. His two eldest to Tina Nielsen and later three more with Wendy Brown. After many years in the oilfield, he moved with his family to Texas and then Wyoming to continue his career and spent many years there before winding back up in Montana and finally residing on the family ranch in Winnett.
Les loved his life, his many adventures and his family. He enjoyed fishing, reading a good book, telling tall tales, going out in the hills rock and diamond hunting, road tripping, gardening and spending time with his family, his kids, his dog Bosco and his best friends. There are so many more words that could be used to describe Les and the wonderful life he lived; this only scratches the surface of the amazing man he was and life he led. He will be missed dearly by all of us and is loved by so many.
“Dad was Our Hero, Space Man to many, 10 foot tall and bullet proof.”
